Why is Moses so revered? He was supposed to have received the Ten commandments from god.?

In fact he copied them from Hammurabi who had lived five hundred years before Moses in Babylon in Mesopotamia. These laws eventually reached Moses who at that time lived in the Nile valley, thousands of miles from Babylon. There were nearly three hundred laws and it appears that Moses studied them, abridged them down to ten and claimed he had received them from god.
