Baby nail care question?

hi guys!!!! so my dds nails grow like crazy but this morning ive noticed that shes got(forgive my poor description)little pieces of skin sticking up around them. not skin skin but like little frayed skin. i dont think im explaining this very good, it sounds awful this way. i have them and other people do to i know its something completely normal. i want to say cuticles but its not the base of the nail bed but u would use a cuticle tool to remove them. maybe its just to early for me to be on yahoo, lol. i hope u guys know what im saying. anyhow, should i just leave them alone? i dont want to necessarily trim them off...ooooooohhh im so tired!!!!
